So here goes…!
Here we are on Tuesday evening on the
countdown to our planned trip. Roger’s engaged in chart correction; I’m
desperately trying to wind up the work in London
and juggle all things that make up the working life; and we’re both
hoping that Gemini Interiors will have finished the saloon cushions by the end
of the week. Over the weekend I started to think about the food for the first
long passage – if it’s to Bayona as we hope I need to plan for 6
days at sea. Roger’s strong preference is for “bland food”-
I’m not sure that chilli mince and Bolognese count, but have got some
frozen down; also some soups taken from the “DiveTime” website as
recommended by Keith MacDonald – they’re great, although in
industrial quantities!
At present the weather looks set for
a sharp getaway over the weekend. If anything, there may not be enough wind in
the channel. I can live with that, provided the wind’s fair and the sun
shines -better than the past couple of years, when we’ve taken a week
plus just to get out of the Channel
Well, that’s it for a first entry!
Keep watching this space!
