At this point in our trip
we made a detour North to Salt Lake City to collect Lynda. We
stayed in the suburbs and had a day's rest before venturing into
the centre - on Sunday morning - hoping to find somewhere to eat.
We parked the car and walked to the Mormon Temple, a rather modest
edifice compared to the one near East Grinstead. The centre was
quiet and we searched in vain for an inviting-looking eatery.
Back at the car park we noticed a large building called the Salt
Lake Brewing Company, apparently open. Once inside we found it
bustling with a mostly young crowd but room enough for us to sit
down and have a very nice brunch.![]() The local microbrewery - an oasis of bustle in an otherwise almost deserted city centre We've driven almost 4,000 miles in the past four weeks and now it's time to rearrange the car and make room for Lynda. Our route from Seattle to Salt Lake City is shown in blue on the map below; the magenta route leads onward to San Francisco. National Parks and National Monuments we have visited are shown in bright green; others which remain on the 'to be visited' list are in pale green. (This entry is written with full hindsight!) ![]() |
