We arrived in Deshaies on Tuesday morning,  3 days after leaving Vieques.

The winds were mostly F4-5, with some squalls, lots of rain showers and a few lulls.  We sailed mostly on port tack, passing the islands of St Croix, Saba, St Kitts, Nevis and Montserrat.  The seas were not too  bad, though a bit cross when approaching Guadeloupe.

The anchorage at Deshaies is quite challenging, being busy and having a weedy bottom.  It took us 4 goes to get ours to bite.  The wind can be quite gusty, funneling down from the hills into the anchorage and many yachts end up dragging their anchors, presumably because they've not dug them in well.

We were here last April so we know the village quite well.  We were looking forward to fresh croissants delivered to the boat each morning but sadly the lady who used to deliver them seems to have given up!
