Safely back at sea now, with two miles of blue water under the keel and a pleasant Force 3 to 4 from an unseasonal direction gently taking us towards the Maldives.

With Master Aries in control you may wonder what we do with ourselves. Well, apart from eating, sleeping and keeping a lookout cruising all revolves around the list.
This week failures to be added to the list include the wind turbine, steering compass (our only non-electronic one) and washdown pump. Last minute purchase of used truck inner tube to replace the compass membrane enabled Paul to spend many hours attempting reconstructive surgery on the compass. Unfortunately, not only the diaphragm had hardened and disintegrated from old age. The magnets fell off and parts of the gimbals fell apart when touched. Fourteen attempts were made and now it works, after a fashion. But a new compass is top of the shopping list when we get to the chandlery (Ho Ho).
