Back in Vuda Point Marina, Fiji! We had a long but good trip from London, stopping in Brisbane for the night. We hired a car and drove to Kawana marina on the Sunshine Coast where we intend to leave the boat in October. It looks like a nice place.
To our relief, Falbala is looking good. No mould or nasty bugs found inside. Decks were clean and apart from the dinghy overall cover which seems to have been shredded in the wind everything was as we left it. She has been lifted out of the pit and is now standing on the hard on props. We are now waiting for the hull to be scraped back to the gelcoat and then do the antifoul. The rudder needs some repair and attention as well as the propeller shaft. No idea when we will be able to go back in the water. In the meantime, we stay comfortably in one of the marina cottages.
The weather has been very windy for the first two days and is now overcast. No big heat yet which is enabling us to adapt easier to the climate.
So all good so far.
