The EJ's Voyage

We went ashore yesterday and landed in a Pearl farm. We met a lady working there and chatted with her. She gave me 2 pearls and I gave her a packet of cigarettes and a bottle of whisky. She was delighted. So much so that she and her husband came last night to invite us for lunch today and then said they would take us on a tour of the atoll. They also brought us a baguette and some fish. These were delicious cooked on the BBQ.

We visited the village. They don't have much but they all seem happy. Finding water is very difficult. They survive on rain water but it doesn't rain that much. At the end the church agreed to fill up our 2 jerricans. Apart from bottled water that's the only water we have onboard. The watermaker is still refusing to work and our water tanks are totally empty. Somehow we manage. We wash the dishes in sea water, we cook with sea water even if the pasta taste really too salty, we even shower with sea water but since we have our 2 jericans filled now we can allow ourselves a last rinse with fresh water! Luxury!!!

We are the only boat in the lagoon. Bliss.

Love
