Results at last with the watermaker! The part we were so eagerly waiting for has arrived and Mike has been able to repair and put the watermaker back in its place under the galley sink. All is working fine but it was not an easy job. The float switch for the grey water pump has also been delivered and we now have a perfectly working pump. Hurrah!

We still need to receive a cable from ICOM New Zealand for our SSB and the electronic Boxtron box from Italy for our Yankee furler.

Very hot here in the marina. No wind so no air…

We had a fun party onboard last night with Etienne from Tahiti Ocean who has been so helpful to us since we arrived here in Tahiti and Charles and Noelle of TIGRESS, our “next boat” neighbour. TIGRESS is registered in the UK but didn’t fly the correct flag so Mike found a red ensign and gave it to Charles. Hence the silly photos with flag and hats!

Tonight Jean and Jean-Pierre who were our neighbours when we first came in the marina are coming for dinner. Mike’s French is improving everyday!

On Friday night we will go to the Intercontinental Beachcomber hotel, not far from the marina, for a dinner and show. It is called “La soiree merveilleuse” with Polynesian dancers from a professional group. Everybody we spoke to said it is very nice. We will report!

We will hopefully leave the marina and Tahiti on Saturday, stop again at Moorea for a few days and then go on to Huahine, the first of the Iles-sous-le-vent.

We are making enquiries with marinas in New Zealand to see where we will leave the boat in October. The ball is rolling!

Mike spoke to Jamie yesterday as it was Jay 2nd Birthday! All is well and Emma seems to be doing fine too. We do miss them

All is well here!

Love

Mike and Catherine.
