Day 11
A mixed bag in the last 24hrs, yesterday was a bit
slow but then it picked up steadily overnight we were bowling along at just
under 8 knots at dawn, but then its dropped of completely thru the morning,
we're rocking around in confused sea's at 1-2 knots at the moment. The
weather chart indicated that it should pick back up again as we the
low that's been messing us around moves & it looks like "fingers
crossed" we're on the right latitude to get pop thru into the steady
looking trade on the other side that appear clear all the way St
Lucia! Its been a bit touch and go whether top put the Duck breast
(reserved for half way celebrations) on ice for another 24hrs but we're just
coming up for 1400 nautical miles which seals it, cocktails have been mixed by
the skipper/mixologist, I myself am pushing the boat out with a Campari
& soda! Tres chique n'est ce pas. Last night Ollie madjic'd beans on
toast into a spiced lemon chicken pie topped with fluffy mash potato &
cheese gratin, served with a lightly sauted tomato & courgette number &
this is having claimed the only thing he picked up in home economics was
girls telephone numbers. So tonight with my trusty new commis(despite
him claiming to be drained after yesterdays efforts?) I am going crack
on with the duck breasts, have a few ideas of how it should be handled
watch this space to see if they fly out! Que the punch line drum
roll.
Anywho, the ice is melting which is derogation of
duty, the campari needs attending to ;)
Love to everyone
