The EJ's Voyage

Very busy today getting the boat ready to sail
again! We intend to leave for the 3000nm crossing to the Marquises tomorrow
night or, more likely, Friday morning.
It looks like we will have light winds for 300nm
going South and then hopefully we will catch up the trade winds which should
push us through nicely to our destination. We hope we will not have to
motor too much.
Anyway, all well. We had some torrential
downpours yesterday but the sun is out is the sky is blue today. A bit of a
swell coming into the bay which can make the boat rocking and rolling a bit too
much for our comfort. However, Mike copied our Aussie friends' invention,
the "stopper flopper", which consists of large boards with weight hanging from
the spinnaker booms on each side of the boat and dropped deep in the
water. When the boat rocks, the water friction created by the boards and the
weights lessen the movement. Simple but clever!
That's all for now!
Love
