We have sailed 1200 nm. In about 2 days we will be
half way through.
We are having South East winds from 20 to 25 knots
with peaks at 30 knots. Main has a reef, staysail out and yankee poled out. We
are flying along at 7 to 8.5 knots. We did 200nm yesterday in 24hrs which is
very good for our type of boat. From what we have heard from other yachts ahead
of us, the wind is dropping to 5 to 10 knots the closest they get to the
Marquises. Still a long way to go for us so we will have to wait and
see.
Nobody slept well last night because of the
constant squeaky noise of the vang. So our captain took it of this morning and
greased it. He is putting it back now and hopefully it will be
quiet...
Loads of flying fish on our decks this morning.
Such a shame they are not good to eat because it would be the easiest fishing
method! They land themselves on decks!
We had very nice pork loin fillets with broccoli
and sweat potatoes last night. Today it is chicken day. Not sure yet how I will
prepare it.
Beautiful day. FALBALA is surfing on the waves and
rocked by side ones but we are getting used to it now.
All is good
Has anybody had good April's fool jokes? If so
please share them with us!
Love
Mike and Catherine
