Another beautiful day in paradise! Air temperature
is getting hotter everyday and sea temperature is now over 24 degrees. Light
winds gentle sea. Sailing comfortably at about 6.5kts.
All happy onboard and in good spirits. Scutch is
over the moon since he discovered that he had a fan above his berth to keep him
cooler at night!
Sparkly Ollie is still Master of the Battleship
against GULLIVER and he makes us laugh a lot with his funny stories. He also
found the first flying fish to have landed on deck overnight.
Our onboard Chef is complaining today of having
eating too much last night. Well, whose fault is that? So he has threatened to
put us all on a light supper today consisting of fish and couscous. I suppose
that is not so bad after all...
Captain Mike has been able to catch up on his sleep
today. He is a little concern about the Doldrums that we are supposed to sail
into tomorrow. No big deal though, we carry plenty of fuel and will motor
through it if necessary.
We have had some fantastic skies at night with a
myriad of stars and planets. So mysterious and beautiful. The phosphorus in the
sea is like an illuminated path that is showing us the way. Magic.
Time is just flying by. We all agree that days are
going by too quickly. What an exciting adventure!
However, Mike and I have been deeply
saddened last Thursday when we learned through email about the horrid events in
Mumbai that have claimed the live of a wonderful man who was dear to both our
hearts. A very cruel reminder that there is a very disturbed world out there.
But also a reminder that we owe to all the dear ones whose lives have been taken away too soon over the past few years to live
our own lives to the full and best we can. We certainly do our
best.
