HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!
We have now left St Lucia and arrived in Ste Anne,
Martinique, yesterday afternoon. We had a good sail with an average of 20kts
winds, gusting 30kts. Quite a few tropical showers as well and big-ish swells.
Got soaked on occasions with waves crashing on the aft deck which was fun.
Wouldn't have found it so amusing in colder climates I am sure...
We stayed at anchor in the bay last night because
the marina was full. It was no problem because the anchorage is safe and
good.
However, after a delicious lunch at the local
restaurant Indigo and some Ti Punch, Mike went to see the head of the big
Sunsail base in the marina and persuaded him - with my help in French - to let
us moor on one of the Sunsail berths. So here we are, attached to land
again!
Irene and Malcolm will be going home on Tuesday so
from then on, it will be the two of us. We intend to go to St Pierre, North of
the Island and wait there for Mark and GULLIVER to join us on the
12th from the Grenadines. We then intend to visit Dominica, Guadeloupe,
Antigua, Nevis. You will have to keep on reading the blog to see where we go
after that!
Hope the year has started well for you all and that
2009 will be a very happy one.
Love and hugs
Catherine (and Mike)
PS we will try to get some pictures up for our next
blog to make it more interesting even though it must make you very jealous
to see sandy beaches ,sun, palm trees and bronzed bodies!!! Keep
warm
