Sorry for not giving you news more regularly but internet
connection is awful here. It costs a fortune and doesn’t work! It was
actually working better when we were in small and remote islands than here in Audrey, bump and Didier have arrived exhausted last Saturday
at 5AM. It was a very long trip from The weather is beautiful at the moment. We haven’t had
rain since we got here. There is of course always a lot of humidity in the air.
It can make it difficult at time as it affects our breathing for instance. Not
good either for our rheumatisms!!! We drove round the island and yesterday we climbed up the
mountains. It was very beautiful and peaceful. We had a challenging drive in
our little Pegeot 206 on very bad tracks with potholes, water puddles and high
bumps. With those, we had to get out of the car in order not to touch the
ground. But we made it and didn’t regret it!. We had lunch at the end of
the track, Relais de la Maroto, steak for the boys and chicken with locally
grown spinach for the girls. We then walked down a steep hill to the
interesting archaeological site nearby. Four months pregnant Audrey had a bit
of a struggle to climb the hill on the way back but made it with a smile! We had a lovely meal in a little restaurant in the Marina,
La Casa Bianca. We will go back tomorrow because they will have Polynesian
dancers in the evening and Audrey and Didier haven’t seen any yet. Mike spoke to his Mum. She sounded well and happy in her new
room in He also spoke to Jamie. All good there too. Emma seems to be
doing well and Jay had a nice first meeting with his great grandma. We would
have like to see them. J Mike is repairing the watermaker today. It is a very
difficult job so there is a lot of swearing going on. I only wish I could help. Off to Moorea at the end of the week. It is said to be much
better than here in Enjoy the attached photos! Love Mike and Catherine |
