The EJ's Voyage

Ours was amazing. We sailed to Cayos Holandes, a group of islands less than 20 miles from Porvenir. Totally untouched. Big reefs surrounding the islands. Perfect anchorage in crystal clear blue water. We took the dinghies and went to the edge of the reef. Then one guy stayed in each dinghy whilst we all got in the shallow water to drift snorkel in the strong current. The dinghies picked us up at the other end. We saw loads of corals, all sorts of fish, gigantic blue raies and guess what... 3 sharks! These were over 7ft long, big black things. It did cause us a shock to see them swimming just a few feet underneath us! Scary! We were quite happy to climb back in the dinghies!
We sailed back to Porvenir yesterday morning because Frank was leaving us from here to go to Panama.
Last night we had a dinner party on our boat for Robyn who sadly has left us this afternoon to go back home to New Zealand for a while. Hopefully she will be back in a few weeks. Peter has gone with her to Panama to find some parts for the boats and will return the day after tomorrow. His younger daughter and her boyfriend, Frances and Andrew, are on board Sequell. They are here for a month, both divers, great guys. We promised Peter to look after them while he is away.
It Mike's Mum 91st Birthday today. Mike spoke to her this morning and although sad not to be with her today we are happy to hear that she is well..
Hope you are all well to.
Love
Catherine and Mike
