Second weekend at sea and still smiling! 1829 nm
under our belt, only 1000nm to go!!! After the big blow and excitement of the
last 24 hours, the wind is back to being a bit weak again. The morning was
quite miserable with no sun, some uncomfortable swells and light rain showers.
But the sun is appearing again. Let's hope that the wind will increase as well.
Our Captain as always has a cunning plan and intends to change the rig this
morning and hoist the second headsail which hopefully will improve our speed.
Watch this space...
The boys were very sweet last night and took over
my first night watch. I think they were just trying to get back into my good
books after the big mess they created in the galley. It almost worked until Mike
discovered the port deck covered with grated cheese this morning. God knows what
they had been up to during the night. Poor Mike who hates the smell of Gruyere
Rape at anytime had to get down his hands and knees to wash the stuff of the
deck. He almost fell on it as well as it was very slippery so quite dangerous at
night when we could not see it. Ah well, boys will be boys I guess, never
think of the consequences!!!
Sea temperature is over 26 degrees now and air
temperature around 30 degrees. It is ok on deck but quite hot down in the
cabins.
Spirits are still high and everyone happy. Boredom
non existent. Hurrah!
Let's hope that our Captain - who never seems to
stop working - will be able to fix the watermaker today. Otherwise we will all
be very smelly soon... But I have total confidence in him. After all, we surely
have the best Captain of the fleet!
Gros bisous a tous.
Many thanks to the friends and family who are
sending us emails. It is great to get your news in the middle of the Atlantic
and to know that you are thinking of us!
Love to all
