Anchored in the lovely protected bay of Port Fitzroy. The weather has been so beautiful lately, no wind and sunshine. A perfect combination for an ideal anchorage!

Great Barrier is very nice and wild. Just a few houses here and there, a little airport. The village consists of one grocery shop that also do Post Office, a restaurant which in fact is just a trailer and only opens 3 days a week, a tiny shed that acts as Tourist Information center. That's it!

We climbed up to Mount Hobson yesterday with Jan and Rich from S/Y Slip Away. A strenuous 7 hours walk but well worth it. Mike coped very well although moaning a bit from time to time that he didn't enjoy it... The views from the summit were spectacular. There are some large sandy beaches, lots of mounts and valleys. Very green and rich in vegetation. Loads of birds with enchanting songs. We climbed hundreds of steps to get to the summit. These steps have been built to protect birds nest and keep people off the grounds. We took a different path on the way down and had to climb down over 2000 steps. Thank God we didn't take that path on the way up. Ours was hard enough! We have very soar calves today.

On our way back to Marsden Cove tomorrow. The wind should pick up, up to 30 knots according to the forecast and changing from Northelies to Southerlies which is good for us.

Our watermaker still doesn't work. So frustrating. Not sure what we will do now. But haven't paid the bill yet and will hold out until it works

Will post photos when we will have a better signal in a day or two.
