After all the years coming to Antigua for the annual Yacht Charter Show, arriving here felt like landing in a well known territory. However, it is all very quiet here. Not the buzzing place we were used to. It is partly as we were told, due to the fact that a yacht captain has been murdered here just 2 days ago. He was walking home from Falmouth up the hill towards Pigeon Beach with his girlfriend and baby, got mugged, ran after the attackers and they shot him dead. Very sad and depressing.

Still Mark was on the quay to meet us when we arrived yesterday lunch time, and thank God he was there to help. Berthing at Nelson's dock yard is not an easy task, especially when the blustery winds was pushing the bow of FALBALA in the wrong direction! Anyway, we made it. Nothing like a bit of excitement!

Went to Shirley Heights as it was Sunday for a jamming session and a few rum punches. Sunset was not fantastic because of light clouds over the horizon but still very pleasant.

We enjoyed very much our stay in Les Saintes, little islands part of Guadeloupe. A mini Porquerolles or St Tropez. Very quaint and pretty. We hired a scooter and did every road on the island (not that many anyway!) and discovered some beautiful beaches and breathtaking views.

We will leave Antigua early next week and start our journey up to Ft Lauderdale. 1200nm to go so there will be lots of sailing!

Attached some photos of the Indian River and Big Papa's Bar on the beach in Portsmouth in Dominica and of les Saintes.

A bientot
