We saw life on the ocean! Alain and Catherine of
PULSION appeared on the horizon last night and finally overtook us this morning.
We had a long chat on VHF which was fun. They are doing well. Being a much
lighter boat they are faster than us in these winds. They will be able to tell
us all about anchoring at HIVA OA since they will arrive before us. Great!
Attached a photo with them taken in Galapagos the day before we
left.
16 to 20kts of wind all night. It has dropped
a little today to 16kts but we are still sailing along nicely at 6.5kts. Yankee
is goose winged on port, staysail and main on starboard. The sea has calmed down
a bit too so it is quite comfortable now.
Beautiful day. Hot. The boys are having another at
fishing with homemade lures.
Towing generator broke, a piece (don't ask me to
explain which one!) got totally worn out. Mike is in the middle of repairing it
now. We struggle a bit to get our batteries recharged. Not too sure yet what the
problem is. But we are ok, It just mean that we have to turn the generator on
for much longer than usual. We have plenty of diesel so it is not a huge
problem.
All good onboard
A demain
