Quick update.
We are tucked in Bucks Harbor Marine, Maine, waiting for Bill to go through. However, it now looks like Bill will not hit Maine but forecaster still warn about big swells. Anyway, we are so far inland that we should not notice it.

Mike is a lot better. Thank God! He is ashore now with Cindy to shower, do the laundry and maybe bring lobsters back for tonight's dinner! Showers are great at the tine marina here. They are outdoor showers, constructed in wood and you can look at the boats in the harbor whilst you wash your hair. Love it!

We have had very foggy weather here yesterday but sun is coming out now so we will go for an afternoon trip up the cove. Everyone says it is well worth it.

The area is just gorgeous. It is a bit difficult to find your bearings between mainland and islands! So many of them and the mainland broken up with many estuaries, rivers and coves. Fascinating. So many places to adventure and explore. Lots of huge trees, hills and mountains in the background.

Went for a walk yesterday. Didn't meet any bears but found a wild blueberry field. Delicious.

Bucks Harbor Marine is delightful. You feel like at the end of the earth. Nothing here but a (well stocked) grocery shop and a tiny restaurant... and wild nature. And some very beautiful houses. So peaceful. the only snag is that there is absolutely no phone network. Our only mean of communication is through Iridium.

Boat main PC packed up yesterday (wish Bob was here!) and generator didn't want to start again! So it is unfortunately back to Wayfarer Boatyard in Camden on Monday. That is very disappointing. Hopefully work will be under guarantee.

Hurricane Bill messed up Cindy's plans to leave us for New York as there is no way to nowhere from here! She will have to come back with us to Camden on Monday and find a bus from there to Portland - Boston - New York.

Glad to say that our garden is doing well: lots of new leaves on our Buddha Plant that was given to us by Melinda in St Lucia!

Love from us all
