Back in the land of communication!
Cindy left us last Tuesday for New York and we
sailed that day to Pulpit Harbor on North Haven. Lovely sail, lovely day and
beautiful anchorage. However we missed Cindy - and still do. She is having a
great time in New York and is flying back home today.
Cindy left us a present which I am sure will make
Jamie, Scutch and Ollie very happy: a game of Yahtzee!!! Same dices, same
cup...and same bloody noise. I can see the grins on your faces,
guys!
On our way to Isle au Haut, we sailed through
Fox Island Thoroughfare. Magic. An estuary passing through the middle of the
island. Again, beautiful day and sail and a very amazing place. After
asking a local lobster fisherman, we found a buoy in the middle of the narrow
channel. hardly anybody around, peaceful, beautiful. We found another lobster
man and approached him with our dinghy. Mike asked if he would sell us 2
lobsters, he agreed and off we went with the beasts at the bottom of our dinghy.
Another delicious meal on board! Couldn't get fresher.
We went ashore for a walk and saw 2 deer happily
crazing on somebody's lawn. Saw a house for sale but decided against it...
although it included a tempting deep water mooring, a second hand Landrover etc.
Just too remote...
We have now started South and West and arrived back
in Boothbay last night, heading to Falmouth this morning. There are talks of
Hurricane Danny to hit us at the weekend but forecasters don't really know what
he is doing yet. So we'll see. Falmouth seems a safe place to haul up if Danny
decides to be nasty.
That's all for now. Hope Hurricane Bill didn't
cause to more havoc in UK. We heard that Scotland was hit. Danny is still being
described as tropical Storm/Hurricane 0. Hope it will fade out, not hit us
or give you in Europe any hassle.
Be safe and happy
Love
Catherine and Mike
