Day 16

We've had a very pleasant 24hrs, after the dead calm of sat night and subsequent opportunity for a swim mid Atlantic Sunday morning, we motored for the first time under clear skies thru Sun lunch, fortuitously the wind steadily built and we were back under sail power by late afternoon.  The sunset was spectacular with a huge pallet of different colours displayed on an array of fluffy clouds along the horizon as the sun dropped, at which point a significant green flash was witnessed by Scutch and the Skip.  We had a nice bit of roast beef for dinner and enjoyed a moonlit night with steady winds just of our starboard quarter, not the expected direction that the trades should blow but allowing us to keep our course none the less.   The 2000 mile mark was pasted at about 0430hrs this morning and we now have St Lucia plotted as a waypoint on the GPS and as I am writing this is indicating 896.6nm to go!
This morning has been much the same with the big story of "The one that got away", at about 0900hrs something "BIG" bit and the reel ran out so fast that by the time Scutch got his paws on the reel the strong line had ran out and we were onto the lighter line underneath, which gave instantly there was any pressure on it!  Scutch however has "jumped straight back on the horse" and has fashioned a green and yellow stripped washing up glove into a new lure, watch this space, Catherine is threatening to have his moustache off if there's no fish landed by sunset!!!!!
Well its that time of day and my mango n vodka cocktails not gonna stay cool for long ;)

Lots of love to everyone
