Hey! We finally made it! After a trouble
free 30hrs passage from Nassau we arrived in Ft Lauderdale last
night at 18:00. We moored at Pier 66 for the night and had a good meal at Pier
66 Grill.
Went for a run along the beach this morning and
Mike cleaned the boat (as usual!). Our friend Kevin came to say hi ad then we
went to clear custom at Port Everglades. So we are "officially" in the USA
now.
Our return flights to the UK are booked. The first
reasonably priced tickets we found was for a departure on the 16th, a bit later
than we intended. So we will be landing at Heathrow the morning of the
17th.
In a few minutes we will leave the marina and
attempt to get to Kevin's dock at the bottom of his garden where we will leave
the boat until our return in June. It looks like the draft might be a problem so
we are keeping our fingers crossed and hope it will be fine.
