Well we finally made good our escape from the Algarve. I think we were both becoming a little marina crazy, to escape was, now or never. Especially as crew was dead keen to leave the boat in Marina de Lagos.

The sun shone (again), boy it would be good to see some rain………….it is the sun, its affected the brain I think. The weather Gods were kind, with only 1.5 to 2 metre waves and we motored all day . 11 hours to be precise. Very boring and uneventful, as there was no sailing, due to the wind being on the nose most of the time, but at least we both got some rest, and I continued to be enthralled by Jane Fonda’s autobiography.

Anchored just off the beach, adjacent to the marina in Sines. It is a pretty and quite spot, and an ideal location for a quick get away to Cascais tomorrow.  Our position is 37 degrees 57 mins North, 8 degrees 52 mins West. There is a large sail training ship anchored just next to us, that looks very “Oneden Line”………….

Lamb chops and a good bottle of Portuguese wine are imminent, so go to go now.
