South West Biscay
Our position at 2015 BST to day is 44 degrees 59 mins North,
09 degrees .80 mins West.
Heading for Cap Finisterre ( which is currently 113 nm
away), in North West Spain. Yesterday was a slow day for us, achieving a 24
hour run of just 146 nm. This was mainly due to lack of wind and a decision not
to put up the cruising chute. Today is quite different. Winds from the East and
NE, 20 to 30 knots. So we have a reefed main, with boom preventer and reefed Genoa and full stay sail.
Been tromping along at 7 to 8 knots most of the day. The seas are moderate, but
quite “rolly”. This has made moving about the boat quite tricky and
a nightmare for Jennie to prepare meals. In fact, due to lack of gimballed
sink, most of the dishes, with dish water ended up on the galley floor this
evening.
Not decided yet whether to go inside or out side the Finisterre
TSS. This will depend on the prevailing weather conditions later on.
No fishing today, so I do not have to report the usual
humiliationof no fish to report. Did see Dolphins again.
Sun is going down now, so the attached picture sets the
scene…………………..
