Plymouth to Bayona – Day 2

We managed to cover 168 nm in the first 24 hours. A lot of motoring but some good sailing too. Today started with little or no wind and stayed that way all day until around 1900 this evening.

None the less it was a beautiful warm sunny day, so we are both now taking on the lobster shade!

Our position at 2000 tonight is 47 degrees 20 mins North, 07 degrees 30 mins West. We have now past over  the continental shelf and into  deep water.

It was so calm today, Jennie decide to do some sewing! As the freezer has died, we are now munching through the best parts of the contents, before they go off. So we had Sea Bass for lunch and Fillet Steak for dinner.

The high light of the day was at around 15.30 when a pod of 7 or 8 Dolphins arrived and decided to “bow wave” Zipadedoda. As ever they managed to prove that they can move faster than I can press the shutter on the camera. So 50 pictures later, I managed one half decent shot. Copy attached.

Fishing all day today and not a nibble on either line, so my reputation as an abysmal fisherman continues unchallenged.

Forecast for tomorrow is more wind (hurray) from the East, so hopefully we will get a cracking sail tomorrow.
