Bayona
The Rally started at 0900 today. We wanted to avoid the “crush”
at the start, so we were right at the back of the field at the start.
The wind died before we could get away from Plymouth Sound,
so all the yachts have ended up motoring. The fleet is now scattered across the
English Channel. It is 1400 and our position
is 50degrees 00 minutes North, 4 degrees 48 minutes West. We are heading for
our next waypoint which is at 49 degrees North, 6 degrees 20 minutes West. At
the current speed (SOG) we will arrive there are around 0200 tomorrow.
Saw our first pod of Dolphins a couple of hours ago.
About 4 or 5 in the pod. Too far away to photograph.
It is a clear and sunny day and the “legs” are getting
a good red glow already!!
Two fishing lines out. Both with surface lours. One of which
is a home made one consisting of a large hook, a half a length of the cork from
a wine bottle and the finger from a yellow Marigold glove. No luck yet, but we
will see what the morning brings. Hopefully breakfast!!
Freezer is slowly dying, so it looks like we will be living
on fillet steak for the next week!
