Working in the Boat Yard - Week 1 - 17 April 2015
24:45.626S 152:23.138E Carol is hard at work in UK and already making a huge difference to Nuffield Hospitals. Meanwhile, back on Tashi Delek work begins to get her ready to go in the water. Having left her stripped down to face a possible cyclone, everything that is usually on deck is now below deck and with a contractor young “Harley” working on deck replacing the main coach roof window, it must stay below deck. Home for the next three weeks means living amongst all the stuff and eating meals sitting on the floor. At least there is a small place to sleep, alongside the Spray Hood and all the cushions. While I am working in the starboard aft cabin heads (that’s the back right toilet and shower room) replacing all the pipework (to the left of the door), there is also a Yanmar engineer servicing the engine (to the right of the door) alongside me. He is replacing the injector nozzles and exhaust manifold and I am cutting out 11 year old loo pipes! Guess who is having the most fun! Meanwhile over on the port (that’s the left) side …….. The electricians are in the very back of the other aft cabin adding two new batteries to boost the amp hours we can store. They are also advising me on wiring a new deck light on the stern and running the cables through to the main switch board for the new wifi booster aerial.
