Manganari Bay on the Island of Ios.  Second night here keeping out of the way of the ‘Severe Gale’ hammering the Aegean.  We decided to stay put rather than try and get across to Santorini two hours away and are very glad we did as there has been no let up all day with gusts of 45 knots (over 50 mph).  The best test so far for the new anchor and chain we bought last year and both have kept us nailed to the bottom for over 24 hours now.  The forecast is for this to continue into tomorrow so we will take it in turns again overnight to stay on deck and make sure we are not dragging the anchor.  An excellent opportunity to catch up on the podcasts we download from Radio 4.

Although frustrating to get stuck like this we have got quite a lot of work done of the cleaning variety, enjoyed a spot of light reading and  caught up on the blogs ready to download next time we have a proper wifi connection.
