37:41.19N 26:57.06E Saturday 24th July The constant northerly winds that blow, hard, during July
and August have apparently been recorded from ancient times. Today, this
wind is known by its Turkish name, the Meltemi, and it blew us along pretty
swiftly from Kusadasi back to the Greek Island of Samos and the delightful town
of Pythagorio. Mike will stay on the yacht at anchor here while Carol is
visiting UK for ten days. He will be hard at work fixing things,
cleaning, polishing and even varnishing which won’t make for a very
exciting blog so there will be a bit of a break now. Carol arrives back the same day as Andrew, Julia, Sarah and
Emma come out for a week so more updates once we are all on board and have set
sail once again. |
