Sitrep Day Five
20:04.20N 020:48.148W 673 miles travelled, 300 to go All well. We both have our sea legs now and spend less time flying across the floor when the next lurch comes. The weather is getting warmer and therefore we don’t have to bundle ourselves into quite so many layers at night and there is a chance that shorts will be worn during the day very soon. Michael, Kit and Moyra have just phoned (satellite phone) to say they have arrived in Mindelo on the island of Sao Vicente from the island of Sal where they flew into yesterday. We had intended to pick them up there and all sail to Mindelo together but changed plans because we were held up in Lanzarotte. Now we know they have made it we have changed course to go straight there. This has the added bonus of changing our angle to the waves and swell so they are more directly behind than before which means marginally less rolling from side to side. |
