Myrene Harbour on Limnos
39:52.29N 25:02.98E 3rd – 6th July We stayed put in Myrene harbour for a few days to
re-provision, do some jobs on the boat and visit the winery overlooking the
harbour. We enjoyed tasting the Limnos wines and will enjoy drinking those
we bought when Michael arrives in a couple of weeks. Carol reverted to her old role recruiting for Army nursing
when we learnt that the teenage girl on the next boat intended to do her nurse
training and was keen at some point to join the Army. She is now in touch
with the recruiting team in Camberley and will hopefully send me another update
to let me know how she gets on. We had been told that the view from the castle at sunset
(don’t worry – sunset picture is in the ‘Sunset’ blog,
there won’t be another one) was fantastic because the sunset behind Mount
Athos on the mainland. We had also heard that there were deer on the
hillside beneath the castle, and indeed there were. While we were up there we took a picture of each other..... And one of the harbour at dusk. That’s all! |
