To the Eastern Shore of Florida

After a pleasant overnight at Moore Haven's new city dock we were ready to tackle Lake Okeechobee. The Super Bowl game was our evenings entertainment, and surprisingly we were able to tune our digital TV converter box to watch the show. Since we had shore power, I roasted a turkey breast in the oven. This takes 3 hours and I did not want to use the generator while underway.
Leaving Moore's Haven, we had 78 miles to get to Stuart, Florida. The lake was calm and settled, and a light mist covered the horizon. We even spent a few minutes recalibrating the auto pilot compass. It sprinkled off and on, usually while we were tending the locks.
Arriving at Stuart, we tied onto a mooring ball in the city anchorage. We plan to rent a car and buy groceries, get motor oil, and pick up some packages waiting for us at Barb and Dave Coplai's home. We will also tie in visits with them and with Larry and Ulla aboard "Roughlife", in Ft. Pierce, Florida. This is about 50 miles north of us. They are friends we met in Bahamas a couple years ago and keep in touch with.
What was that mystery picture from last entry? It is a close up photo of barnacles and sea growth on a piling we were tied up to in Panama City, Florida.
