Job half done, 1500 miles to go. Sudoeste invited us to their half way party and well I'm pretty sure we were the first to arrive (a day and a half late) but they'd already packed up and left, bloody Kiwi's. Nevertheless we will be celebrating with coca cola and some yummy marshmallow slice that we made yesterday.

I will concede that today is actually a bit rough, some reprieve from school is on the cards.

3 fish on yesterday, 1st totally spooled the penn 6.0, the 2nd straightened the hook, 3rd unlucky punter met Denise armed with gaff at the boat. Another marlin landed, I know I said we'd release the next one but it seems Denise missed the memo. To be fair we were doing 9 knots so getting a tissue shot from which he'd recover was always going to be difficult. Grabbing the bill impossible without stopping. Unfortunately he got the gaff through the gut so there was no point releasing him to the sharks. A small (for marlin) 18-20 kilo fish (at a guess). We have now overflowed the freezer so it's fish fish fish on the menu for foreseeable future.

Nothing heard from Elena, where's our story?
