The wind died dramatically down to 8-9 knots by yesterday afternoon, a familiar story for us -long passage and not enough wind. It continued to wheeze all night and by 5am we resorted to motoring . At 10am we hoisted the spinnaker in 9 knots. Going slowly, average 5kts.
Also familiar good fishing! Yesterday afternoon we landed a 6' white marlin (aka. sticky beak, stick face) on the new rod I bought in St Martin. White marlin are the most beautiful iridescent blue colour, go figure. Marlin meat is very meaty with quite a strong texture to it. Lots in the freezer now. Another notable thing about marlin, the scales are wierd, they are the size and shape of those wheat like grass seeds that stick into your socks, although these ones are foot piercingly sharp and have gotten everywhere.
