We left Minerva reef this morning armed with a couple of crays and favourable forecast. Actually everyone vacated Minerva today, we are in a mini flotilla of 11, (9 half boats and 2 cats).

Day one has gone well, we are averaging about 8 knots and heading slightly west of the rhumb line hoping to follow the high around in a huge arc for the next few days. All going to plan we will arrive in Opua on Nov 06 or possibly 5th.

The Minerva to Opua fishing competition is not going well for us, we hooked a XOS Mahimahi which after 15 minutes of battle broke off taking 3/4 of my line along with the big popper lure.
