Parasailor failed last night in 16 to 18 kts and took a swim, back sailing on the asymmetric now, let's hope it copes with the new found breeze.

Thankfully we will be able to get the parasail repaired but she has retired from this trip. There is a metal ring to attach the snuffer halyard to, the join is inside the snuffer sock using a SS shackle which introduces a metal to metal wear point, so the shackle had been wearing through the ring. Before we left I filed off the rough edge of the ring and replaced the metal shackle with soft ones, clearly I did not do the filing well enough as the ring managed to saw through the webbing that secures it to the sail head. I wonder if all this very light wind sailing is causing more movement. Anyway, by 02:20 3 of us managed to wrestle everything back aboard somehow without causing further damage to the sail.

Asia tied her first completely unassisted monkey fist knot, she is very pleased and made a nice job.

Nice whole (trunked) 3.5kg dorado on the BBQ for dinner last night.

Two yachts in distant sight as I write this, first we have seen for many days. Hopefully they simply caught up in the night while we sailed on the genoa, don't want to be knowingly overtaken.
