Hello Friends            "7:26N 103:57W"

For those of you enjoying a northern hemisphere Winter - this is the blog for you !

Yes, we've not seen the sun today and it's actually grey and squally. The spinnaker is down, having been dropped a couple of hours before some really good squalls this morning and the booby poo is almost certainly washed off the decks and canvas.

We must confess that we did manage to break a batt car this morning (holds the end of the batten and thus the mainsail, on to the track in the mast) but our records show we have 2 spares in the appropriate locker. I think I'll wait until the rain eases off before fixing that.

On the plus side, we've had plenty of wind and it's from a direction that is allowing us to go exactly where we want for a change (south west). This isn't pointing us at the Marquesas but is will hopefully get us across the ITCZ by the weekend and allow us to pick up the south east trade winds to take us the rest of the way. At least that's the theory...

Simon seems to be enjoying the different weather - maybe it feels like home...

note grey skies, another squall coming in from right of pic (upwind) and of course Simon wearing waterproofs !

Best Wishes
