Blue Sky's Voyage

Dear Friends                            "12:35.7N 61:24.7W"

Karla and Andreas left us on schedule last Monday to return to Europe.

We've done a few chores since then and despite the stockmarket devastation we decided we could still afford to get a local guy to polish the decks for us, and a very good job he made of it too. Blue Sky is looking quite spic and span after Michael did the teak in Guadeloupe.

We're down in Union Island, almost the southern part of St Vincent and the Grenadines (except for PSV) and as usual we're not suffering too much.

On the basis that a picture paints a thousand words, here's a slightly bigger picture than usual which tells it all. I've just been up the mast to take this a few minutes ago and joined it all together with autostitch.

You can see why we needed a wide photo! from left, the island is Mayreau, then Canouan in the distance to the north, next the Tobago Cays. Then our forestay and a british catamaran, the island is Palm Island - an expensive resort and in the foreground Happy Island. Happy Island is built out of conch shells on the reef and is basically a bar run by some friendly rastas. On the extreme right you have PSV (Petit St Vincent) and Petite Martinique which is part of Grenada.

Incidentally, if you haven't checked out the GoogleEarth images on the front of the blog website, zoom in slowly on last week's position in the Tobago Cays - the satellite photo is great.

Next week we have the Carriacou Regatta to entertain us, hopefully with some good pics.

Not much else to report this week, take care and keep your water wings handy if you're in the UK.

Best Wishes

George & Michael
