Sunday lunch at Cap Ferrat
Blue Sky's Voyage

Dear Friends
The new crew arrived safely and are settling
in well.
We met up with Susannah and Josh as planned
and took them out to the islands for lunch and a swim. We motored out but had a
great sail back in the afternoon breeze. Josh was persuaded to wear his
lifejacket without too much difficulty (photo)
After Le Lavandou we've been at anchor for a
couple of nights, last night off Antibes as there was no room in the marina.
Crew went ashore in the tender to watch footy and I gather the England result
was not satisfactory though the French seemed very pleased with their result and
much cheering, tooting and revving of motorcycles continued long into the
night.
We notice that in this part of the coast it
seems customary to park one's helicopter on the back of one's boat. Not wishing
to be outdone, we intend to buy a toy one in the next port and tie it on
somewhere. See the photo of one such boat anchored next to us off Cap
d'Antibes.
As I type, we are anchored in a small bay on
the south side of Cap Ferrat for lunch and the crew are just having a pre-lunch
swim. (just to R of center in photo)
After lunch we're off east, probably to San
Remo and then on to Genoa to exchange the satellite modem and get some more
winch spares (more damage than I thought in Biscay and need a new body for the
stbd genoa sheet winch). We will of course meet up with Vittorio and friends and
hopefuly persuade him to sail with us back to Imperia to see Silvano and
Laura.
The afternoon breeze is looking promising
and we're looking forward to a sail for the next 20 miles......must
go!
Best Wishes
George & Michael
