After arriving back in the UK we left Moonstone in Torquay whilst we went home to Warwickshire to start refurbishing our home ready for our return. Before heading home we spent time with Claire’s sisters both in Norfolk and Torauay. It was a hectic month of stripping out and replastering the bathroom and generally redecorating the whole house......but the sea called us back and at the end of August we moved back on Moonstone to enjoy the end of summer.
Our six year old grandson Elliott and dad Andrew joined us for a weekend that included a sail to Dartmouth to enjoy the annual Regatta (plus seeing seals, dolphins and catching lots of crabs!). Then we set off on our slow trip up the Channel towards Moonstone’s new berth in Lowestoft.
So far it has been a glorious trip with lovely weather and lots of near perfect breezes. We stoped in Brixham, Weymouth, the Newtown River, Warsash, Itchenor, Brighton, Eastbourne, Ramsgate and now anchored in Hamford Water in the Walton Backwaters.
We’ve been able to spend time with friends, old and new, so our journey east has been slow but very enjoyable.
