0100 local time and we are still heading north but now for Antigua.  We arrived off Dominica after dark and for safety decided not to make a landfall and instead press on particularly as the breeze is due to fade by Saturday.

This part of the Caribbean sea is distinctly busy with brightly lit cruise ships making their nightly merry-go-round so that the slumbering passengers can arrive fresh at a new island in the morning. The UK training ship Lord Nelson has just passed us looking stately and heading towards Bridgetown, Barbados and we’ve also seen a couple of American catamarans tearing past.

We are now off the south west tip of Guadalope, the wind is blowing at around 20 knots on our quarter and we are making 7 knots under reefed main and genoa. Claire is off watch and getting some well earned sleep and I’m going to treat myself to a mug of tea and ginger biscuits.
