After an extended and enjoyable cruise around the Long Island Sound we spent nearly five weeks busily in New York.  Kaitlin our Grandaughter visited us for two weeks then we were joined by Claire’s sister Daphne.  It was Daphne’s son and daughter in laws wedding celebrations in Brooklyn so we moored Moonstone at New York City’s Park Department Marina at the World Fair site for a week before heading to their moorings on the Hudson River on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.  We have had a wonderful time and it has been great to meet family again.

But it is time to head south.  The days are shortening and although warm the nights are distinctly cooler.  We are making daily passages south and after leaving New York anchored the first night behind Sandy Hook and last night in Atlantic City .  This morning was foggy and we delayed our planned 0500 departure by an hour so for it to clear.  We are now underway heading for Cape May and the Delaware River.
