Unfortunately the wind doesn’t want to settle in any direction or strength
for more than six hours so we’ve had to run the engine more than we’d
like.......on the other hand we’ve had some wonderful sailing in delightful
breezes. For a while we had 6kts of true wind on the beam but
because of the strong Gulf Stream current on our quarter we were close hauled
with an apparent wind speed of around 9kts and our speed over ground was over
10knots......weird!
A colourful little bird landed on board around midnight, totally exhausted
it crept behind the lifejackets and fell asleep but sadly it didn’t make it
through the night.....a sad start to the day. |
