It was hard to leave Guanaja, many sailors drop in there for a few days and are never to leave.........we seriously started to consider if we could move ashore, buy a patch of land above the ocean and put our roots down.......perhaps one day we’ll go back to see if it really could be our desert island.   We met some lovely people who made us feel we could become part of their isolated but strong community.
We drifted slowly 35 NM to the west to Isla Roatan and dropped anchor behind the reef, we nearly went aground on the way in but Claire’s frantic waves from the bow averted us piling up onto a coral head.
The forecast is for strong winds for a few days so we will avail ourselves of the nearby tiki bars and some snorkelling on the reef
