We’d picked up a mooring in Marblehead for a couple of nights as there was nowhere to anchor.  The mooring pick up lines were covered in seaweed and “jellies” so we guessed the owner wasn’t coming back soon.
Marblehead is very pretty and is notable because it doesn’t confirm to the usual grid conformity of  British colonial towns....and it also has lots of fine beautifully restored 18th century town houses.
The moorings were very rolly in the NE wind and we were glad to leave this morning; we sailed SE in a steady 18 knot breeze with the sea on the beam to Cape Cod where tonight we are anchored just outside Provincetown.
