Lighter winds and a diminishing current have encouraged us to start the engine. The solenoid has as we thought failed so we need to hot wire to get the engine started – it is surprisingly easy but does a visit to the bowels of the engine room, so not something you want do in a hurry. During the night we have seen the lights of a couple of fishing boats. We knew there are fishermen in the area by the ceaseless and exited chatter on Channel 16, of course in Portuguese, and we are left guessing to what they are talking about, is it the size of their catch or maybe football? We haven’t heard any news for the last week so perhaps Brazil are in the final? |
