We sailed into the bay at Georgetown around lunchtime and radioed the port security for permission to enter and to request clearance only to be told that immigration would want to charge us $80 to visit us today but if we were prepared to wait until tomorrow morning it would be free of charge........they were obviously very busy with two cruise ships and four cargo vessels.    There is a catch for the free option....we can’t go ashore today but that’s not a problem as we need to catch up on missing sleep from last night’s passage.

In order to protect the underwater environment and coral there are many free buoys to moor on, looking into the crystal clear vivid turquoise water from Moonstone’s deck we can see hundreds of brightly coloured fish that are highly visible against the white sandy seabed 5 metres below us.
