After a glorious sail from Tobacco Cay we anchored just south of the mangroves off Robinson Cay. On going below we noticed a strong smell of exhaust fumes which on investigation turned out to be a cracked exhaust pipe caused by the engine moving on its mountings......it must have been inadequately tightened during the recent refit.
In the morning we motored gently into Cucumber Beach Marina about five miles south of Belize City.
Though the cracked exhaust is a major problem it was fortuitous that we were close to a Marina as a gale was approaching Also we needed to get Daphne to the international airport at Belize City and it gave us a chance to tour with her inland before her flights.
So here we sit waiting for a part from the USA, the Marina is basic and a long way from town but it has a decent swimming area and the weather is very pleasant.......
