The trip north from St Kitts was uneventful, the wind blew consistently, the sun shone and the following sea made life very rolly but we did it quickly and arrived in the British Virgin Islands as the sun rose this morning at 0630LT.

On the way we passed the Dutch islands of Statia and Saba, no, we hadn't heard of them either!  The former appeared to be an enormous fuel dump and the latter an interesting lump of rock that we've added to the 'must do next time' list.

Our arrival at Road Town Tortola coincided with two 1000 foot cruise ships but as we anchored in a quieter corner of the harbour we were greeted by a large turtle who came to give us the once over.

The visit to Customs and Immigration was swift and removed some US$ from our piggy bank but that's the way it is out here - we don't begrudge it, they've got to make a living.
