The trip from Lajes was fast and uneventful.  It took only 24 hours to cover the 138 NM passage in a stiff breeze from the NNE.  We enjoyed Flores immensely and so glad we made it our first port of call in the Azores as returning there from Horta would have felt somehow counter productive.
Our biggest surprise so far in the Azores is how cheap food and wine is after shopping on the other side of the Atlantic.......a good bottle of wine for less than £4, wow!
Flores was beautiful, green but wet.......a bit like the south west of England.  We are now sat in sunshine in the anchorage in Horta, it is the warmest we have felt since leaving Bermuda.
